Why do Black People Mistrust U.S. Institutions?

Black people in America are often accused of being particularly prone to conspiracy theories. The Pew Research Center decided to look into what it originally called ‘racial conspiracy theories’ - dropping the term after a backlash. It found there was little confidence among Black communities in US institutions. The study failed to offer any real reasons for the phenomenon. So we’ve decided to do that part of the work for them.
