YES - Yours Is No Disgrace - Guitar Cover

Hopefully doing some justice to Steve. I've never really learned the proper way to play some of the parts, so a lot of it is just kind of played my way that I figured out and sounded close enough sonically.

I saw Yes on their most recent tour and sat a few rows back from Steve, who is one my favorites. He has inspired me plenty over the years. It was a great show, and when they played this tune I was impressed again by his precision, but also how it is never quite the same performance twice. Seeing Yes always makes me play a little bit better. I always wanted to cover Y.I.N.D. as I'd been toying with the intro off and on for a long time. The goal is to get close to the live show feel but to also add my own flare.

NOTE: Yes fans will notice that there is no acoustic guitar in the first bass/vocal break on the record; however, I have added some in. I have also inserted a custom solo written specifically for my version of this song, it comes in between Steve's usual fuzz solo and his "jazzy solo" as I usually call it. Its played on the Vantage 655, a sort of mock version of a Gibson L-5 with 2 pickups instead of 3 - it has a similar cutaway and fretboard styling. Its a big ol' jazzbox. Also, I found some inspiration from Trevor Rabin for some of the keyboard parts and wanted to throw in a little extra work with the tremolo bar. Kind of a mash up of eras on a song I truly love.

Also, the combo of guitars I used in this recording are from five different decades!!

AND, I get to show off some of my records here too.
