Non-Newtonian fluids remind us how surprising and complex the natural world is.

A non-Newtonian fluid is a type of fluid that does not follow Newton's law of viscosity, meaning its viscosity can change depending on the force or stress applied to it. This behavior comes from the size of the particles (100x smaller than sand). They are so small that they are influenced by temperature and electrical charges. You can make a non-Newtonian fluid at home by mixing cornstarch + water.
