Dear Pastor Bob: I was sent a YouTube video today about the dark side of CCM artists and the Dove Awards. This is not the first time this subject has come up but I sit here in prayer and studying the word of God and would appreciate your feedback on listening to music like DC Talk (Kevin Max), Underoath, Gideon, or Ray Boltz or any other number of groups and artist that while talking and purporting to be walking and living for Christ have since stepped more into the world and away from what God asks of us. If the song lyrics are biblically based and sound, even of the artist has fallen away, is there anything that I may be missing that say we should no longer listen to that music? I love all types of music and the path that CCM  seems to continue down for mainstream breaks my heart. The music of mainstream CCM tends to be more present in church praise and worship as well.  Which when ai read through and study the lyrics concerns me for the health of the churches. How would you address these topics and issues for both the individuals and for churches? Thank you for being a stable and solid follower of the Lord that I know these questions may be asked and answered with wisdom and understanding because it is with a heart that truly seeks after God daily.
