MLRS systems engage area-based targets. It means the MLRS systems hit a directly identified perimeter. It allows to engage the scattered manpower of the enemy.

The crews rely on an effect of surprise. The enemy does not know where the projectiles are to come from. The servicemen believe that it is an every day duty to engage hostile manpower, trenches, and troops. Day and night, rocket artillery has to operate in harsh condition. However, well-prepared crews spend just few minutes to produce fire after a target is assigned. They employ rapid relocation tactics.

Grad MLRSs reload in the rear area, then they move to another firing positions to deliver strikes on newly detected targets.
