Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series.
My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I check out a new Indie City Builder called Ark Of Charon on Steam.
Ive been eagerly anticipating the release of this game, as it was published by Sunsoft, one of the most prolific publishers during the 16 bit era, having created some of the greatest titles for console including Batman Return of the Joker, Blaster Master and Spy Hunter.

Sunsoft is delving into the indie market with Ark Of Charon, one of the best designed city builders ive recently played. The game takes place in a Post Apocalyptic World, where mankind has perished. We follow the adventures of the World Tree, the sentient tree that represents the last hope for the world. The World Tree is on a mission to bring back life to earth, travelling across several dangerous areas with the help of its golems, living automatons powered by gathered souls of its enemies. The player will
control the golems as they farm and gather raw materials, mine for stone and iron and research powerful technology to unlock buildings and weapons that can be constructed directly upon the world tree, offering shelter and protection from its many enemies

Eventually you can create a mobile fortress, powered by a mix of technology and magic and protected by state of the art weaponry manned by your trusty golem army

The game boasts a simple yet powerful management system for managing golem management, crafting, construction, farming and mining, allowing both new and experienced strategy players an accessible experience. The game also features a casual difficulty, allowing newer players to enjoy a more story focused experience. This is a true return to form for Sunsoft, who have taken their experience from retro video games and created one of the best new entries in the Indie Space for City Builders

I highly recommend this to fellow strategy fans who enjoyed games like Rise Of Industry, Timberborn and Terraformers
