ENCOUNTER WITH THE ALABAMA WHITE THANG WITH GLEN JACKSON

The Alabama White Thang is a large, hulking Bigfoot-type creature that has been reported throughout Alabama since the early 1900's. Residents described it as being around 7-feet tall, monstrous-looking, and covered in white hair, like an albino Bigfoot. In 1971, numerous reports of the Alabama White Thang were reported around Huntsville, and reports continue to this day.

On this episode of "A Glitch in the Matrix," cryptid field researcher Glen Jackson joins Jessica to discuss his encounter with the Alabama White Thang in the deep woods of Alabama. Jessica and Glen are field research teammates who have had some harrowing experiences with cryptids together in the field, and they discuss that here!

Glen Jackson is a paranormal and Bigfoot field researcher based in Georgia. He has done extensive research across the Southeastern U.S. His quest to explore the unknown began as he was growing up in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. He often heard of the Mt. Vernon Monster – a tall, hairy creature that made its appearance in the Northern Virginia suburbs. It occupied an area that was historically protected and a large military base.

Glen and his classmates watched the Patterson Bigfoot film in class as a child and that sparked his interest in cryptids. His most unusual encounter was a “Woman in Black,” and he’s had some exceptionally strange experiences in the field. He had Bigfoot encounters before he knew about Bigfoot. He’s encountered the Alabama White Thing, gotten zapped, and smelled the nastiest smell he’s ever experienced in his entire life.

Throughout his time researching in the field, he’s met some of the most intelligent people in his life. They all share common goals of looking into the unknown, whether it’s digging into the woods or remote viewing.

His passion for research has also carried into his professional career. Glen is a critical care paramedic, certified firefighter and hazardous materials technician. He is also an instructor of emergency medicine. Currently, Glen is finishing his degree and working on a book in an attempt to bring his career and his cryptids research together. He’s the host of a small podcast and is often a guest on other shows.
