The author of this psalm is not known for sure, however it is apparent that the occasion, the events surrounding the Psalm are the same for Psalm 146-150. That occasion was the rebuilding of Jerusalem after the captivity, and the dedication of the temple and the rebuilding of the walls.
Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,Sea creatures = tan neen = used for serpents, poison snakes, whales, dragons, dinosaurs, etc. The word can certainly mean a great fish, a whale, a sea monster, or a serpent. It is NOT the word used for the great fish and Jonah. It would seem to refer here to whales and sea creatures. And the creatures at all depths of the sea, that is all that inhabit the oceans.
The Psalmist moves on to 4 elements of nature, coming down from Heaven and ascending to Heaven: Fire and smoke especially of the mountains, hail and snow and wind.8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapor; stormy wind fulfilling (asa = accomplish) HIS Word:The Psalmist says that even the elements of nature join in concert with the rest of the creatures to praise GOD.
If the earth was a little farther from the sun, the earth turns into a giant frozen wasteland. A little closer and the earth simply burns up. There is something called the cosmic anthropic principle, this principle says that the universe's parameters are such that life is possible. If those parameters were different, if the universe’s constants (laws, decrees) of nature were slightly different, life would not be able to exist.
COL 1:15-17, The SON is the image of the invisible GOD, the firstborn over all creation. For in HIM all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through HIM and for HIM.
