Why did God tell Moses to make a replica of a poisonous snake and place it at the top of a pole? The snake was a symbol of all that is evil, cursed, sinful, diseased and even is a symbol of death itself. He was to place it on the top of a pole because this was an Old Testament type of Jesus Christ being lifted up on the cross.
