Today in devotions during a time of meditative pause I truly began to hear a message being spoken in my heart. I knew it was the Lord because there have been many times during my life that one and only identifiable Voice has always spoken to me. I know it well.

I began to write down in my Bible what I was hearing. Wave after wave of words were flowing to me. What I was receiving from the Lord was deeply penetrating regarding His word. The usage of it and the experience in it and the trust of it. The greatest things given to us at the onset of our salvation is the word of God and prayer for the rest of our lives.

Many who read the word do so only for intellectual ascent. Others do so to go to war, "brother against brother." There are some that read it and they want to have all understanding and depths of knowledge and wisdom of the veteranized saints all at once. And of course there those who struggle through it and give up. There are those few who "live by every word of God."

"Frances Ridley Havergall kept a Journal of Mercies. She had a record book and she crowded it with her remembrances of God's goodness. She was always on the lookout for tokens of the Lord's grace and bounty, and she found them everywhere.

Everywhere she had communion with a covenant keeping God. The Bible became to her more and more the history of her own life and experience. Promise after promise told the story of her triumphs, and at the end of her life "set to her seal that God is true." ~ J.H. Jowett.

Make sure that you too will set to your own seal these eternal truths for you are made for eternal life. "That thou givest them they gather." Psalm 104:28

"The life of faith is not a life of mounting up with wings, but a life of walking and not fainting.” ~ Oswald Chambers
