In this third installment of the Chainsawga series, the progress ramps up as we dive deeper into milling slabs and planning the table build. After working through the learning curve in earlier cuts, things are starting to come together. Check out the progress and hear what lessons we’ve learned along the way.

With slab No. 2 coming off faster and smoother than the first, there’s a clear reminder that repetition is key to improvement. In any project, whether woodworking or another challenge, practice and refinement are what make things easier and more effective over time.

There’s no underestimating the importance of having the right tools for the job. From upgrading ear protection to realizing the value of high-quality saws and chains, this segment highlights the difference good equipment makes. Investing in the right tools not only protects you but improves efficiency and results.

Every cut now is not just about getting through the work—it’s about planning for the final product. Measuring the cuts for table legs and figuring out how wide each slab needs to be reminds us that precision matters. The project evolves from milling slabs to making creative decisions on how to use the wood to shape a custom table.

As unexpected things happen, like kids placing orders while work is underway, there’s always room for adjusting and moving forward. Even with small interruptions, progress on the project continues, showing the importance of flexibility while keeping the end goal in mind.
