Surreal Encounter: Cooper's Hawk

On Friday, September 21st, 2025, I was on the Warbler's Way trail at the Gilbert Water Ranch when I saw this Cooper's hawk in the reeds. I slowly sat down on a boulder nearby and took some photos and video of the hawk. Normally, the hawk would bolt and fly away, but he/she just sat with me. Hikers passed by and they were so busy on their phones or blabbing that they didn't notice the amazing sight going on nearby. I'm always astounded by people out in nature who still want to walk around on a techno leash! Put the phone away, stop talking, and concentrate on the forest!
