The president of a local union group will introduce Vice President Kamala Harris at her campaign rally in Madison, Wisconsin, this evening, according to a source familiar with the event.

Bill Carroll, president of Milwaukee-based Teamsters Joint Council 39, is among several state labor leaders who have endorsed Harris, following the national Teamsters organization's decision not to support any presidential candidate this cycle, despite a long history of backing Democrats.

However, several local labor unions have thrown their support behind Harris. Her campaign has emphasized the backing from organized labor, portraying her as an advocate for working-class voters through policy commitments and her personal background.

“As Vice President of the most pro-union administration ever, Kamala Harris worked alongside the Teamsters and other union workers to pass the historic Butch Lewis Act, which has saved the pensions of over a million retirees,” Carroll said in a statement earlier this week.
