Lets talk about twitter files!

As part of this week's episode of "this week in social media" , I wanted to share my thoughts and what we found about twitter files.

Some right leading people believe they were shadow “banned, or “being shut up or censored on the platform”

There were reports, “not amplify would be added to an account” was being used to “hide” accounts or hurt the reach of posts from the accounts in question, for creators that create content that is “hurtlly” or for breaking rules, however it didn’t tell the account holder that they were doing this. Musk wishes to change this when took over.

It sounded like they weren't 100% sure “how to act” when it came to the story overall, that is why they were talking about it within the business before Elon musk turned twitter into X.

When Elon took over twitter, he tweeted on the 18th Nov 2022

“New twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach. negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted and demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to twitter.You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of internet”
