Oprah Winfrey joins Kamala Harris on the campaign trail for star-studded Michigan event

Oprah Winfrey, who endorsed the vice president and spoke at the Democratic convention last month, headlined the event with Harris Thursday night in Farmington Hills, Michigan, as the camThe star-studded and, at times, deeply emotional 1.5-hour-long event, set up to mimic Winfrey’s former television show, was live streamed on multiple social platforms. The famous talk show host bounced around to hear from celebrities, advocates, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, supporters from various Harris-friendly groups, and campaign officials, including Harris campaign co-chair Jen O’Malley Dillon. Roughly 30 minutes into the event, Winfrey invited Harris onto the stage, the two women, each donning pantsuits, sitting in chairs across from each other.
