The Feast of Trumpets is one of the holy days in the Bible, picturing three end-time events in Bible prophecy. Discover the full meaning of this feast of the Lord and why Christians should keep it.

As the fourth step in God's plan of salvation for all mankind, this festival points to the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of faithful Christians, and the Day of the Lord. This video explores the deeper biblical meaning of this holy day, showing from Scripture how the Feast of Trumpets has prophetic meaning and deep significance for Christians, especially in the end times.

Leviticus 23:24 introduces the Feast of Trumpets as a holy convocation on the first day of the seventh month (of the Hebrew calendar). It's a Sabbath rest, a "memorial of blowing of trumpets," known as the Feast of Trumpets or Rosh Hashanah in Hebrew, meaning the "head of the year." Trumpets played significant roles in biblical times, often used for various purposes such as calling people to worship or signaling times of war and destruction. The Feast of Trumpets commemorates two primary uses of trumpets: the announcement of war and the coronation of a king.

This day also marks three major end-time events described in Bible prophecy, all announced by trumpets:

1. The Day of the Lord
The Day of the Lord is a period of great tribulation and wrath that will occur just before the return of Jesus Christ. According to the prophet Joel 2:1, the Day of the Lord will be announced by the blowing of trumpets and will bring a time of great fear and destruction. Isaiah 34:8 and Isaiah 63:4 describe this as a year of vengeance, during which seven trumpet plagues will be unleashed upon humanity. The book of Revelation further reveals these terrifying events, describing them in connection to the seven seals and seven trumpets that announce God's wrath upon a rebellious and disobedient world.

Revelation 6 describes the opening of the first six seals, culminating in cosmic disturbances that signal the coming Day of the Lord. The seventh seal reveals seven trumpets, each announcing catastrophic events, from the destruction of nature to devastating military conflicts. Revelation warns that these plagues will cause great suffering on a scale never before seen, with one-third of mankind being killed by warfare.

2. The Return of Jesus Christ
The second event marked by the Feast of Trumpets is the return of Jesus Christ. Trumpets were used to coronate kings in the Bible, and the seventh trumpet blast in Revelation 11:15 announces the return of Christ as King of Kings. At this moment, the kingdoms of the world will become the Kingdom of our Lord and His Christ, and He will reign forever.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 describes the return of Christ as being accompanied by the "trumpet of God." The seventh trumpet signals the reign of Jesus Christ over the earth, bringing an end to human rule and the beginning of a new era of peace and righteousness under Christ’s leadership.

3. The Resurrection of the Saints
The third and final event is the resurrection of the saints. 1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16 both describe this event, in which the faithful dead in Christ will be resurrected at the last trumpet. This first resurrection includes the righteous from all of history, as outlined in Hebrews 11, as well as faithful Christians. They will rise to eternal life and be transformed in the "twinkling of an eye" to rule with Christ during His millennial reign.

Each year, the Feast of Trumpets serves as a reminder of these pivotal moments in human history. It offers hope and assurance to the faithful that God’s plan is unfolding, culminating in the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His Kingdom. For those who follow the teachings of Jesus and keep the holy days, the Feast of Trumpets provides an opportunity to prepare for these world-altering events and to order their lives in accordance with God’s will.
