Trump buys burgers with Bitcoin

If you thought crypto was just for buying dodgy NFTs, think again. Donald Trump, never one to run with convention, made headlines on Wednesday by using Bitcoin to buy burgers at a New York restaurant, becoming the first former United States president to use the cryptocurrency in a transaction. The PubKey bar in Manhattan was his venue of choice, itself famous for being one of the first establishments to accept cryptocurrency, and staff confirmed on X that Trump had bought a dozen burgers for people.
Despite having previously called Bitcoin a ‘scam,’ Trump seems to have done a 180 and is now championing crypto, even launching his own platform, World Liberty Financial, and has made advocating for the currency a key part of his reelection campaign.
