Michelle Wilkins, was lured by Dynal Lane to her house. Ms. Wilkins was 34 weeks pregnant when she was also lured to the basement when Dynal Lane struck her in the head with a lava lamp and then cut her neck with the broken glass until she was unconscious.

The unthinkable happened next when Dynal Lane cut Baby Aurora out of her womb. Baby Aurora, 34 gestational weeks did not live. Dynal Lane was not charged with murder as Ms. Wilkins lived and CO does not have fetal homocide laws and was charged with unlawful termination of a pregnancy.

Former Boulder County DA Stan Garnett tried Dynal Lane
and we heard this expert discuss Unlawful Termination of a Pregnancy and how Chris Watts could be charged in the death of Baby Nico, 15 gestational weeks.
CO does not have a fetal homocide law and as Baby Nico could not live independently outside of the womb, the charge of unlawful termination of pregnancy would be used. Stan Garnett stated it would be virtually impossible for DA Rourke to charge Chris Watts with a 4th murder charge. However, he was charged with 5 life sentences.

Chris watts received an additional 48 years unlawful termination of pregnancy.
Dynal Lane was charged with 32 years of unlawful termination of a pregnancy.
