The Central Correctional Institution (CCI) was South Carolina’s oldest and most infamous prison, built in 1867. Over its 120-year history, it housed over 80,000 prisoners, including notorious serial killer Donald “Pee Wee” Gaskins, who met his end here in 1991. Gaskins’ chilling legacy, along with the prison’s history of overcrowding and violence, casts a shadow over the remains of this facility. In today’s exploration, we’ve found a tunnel behind the power plant that could hold more of CCI’s dark secrets. Though blocked for now, we’ll be back to uncover what lies beyond in future videos.
