Depression Tip #15: Combo Power!💙
Over the last couple of weeks I've offered a bunch of different ideas that may help you heal from depression, may prevent depression from reoccurring. In this tip I want to explain how doing some of those tips in combination can have a really big impactful effect. 💙
So let's go through these lifestyle factors. Number one eating a healthy diet reduced the risk of depression by six percent. Number two drinking no more than one alcoholic drink per day for women or two for men reduced the risk by 11 percent. 💙
Number three sitting at a computer or sitting watching television for more than four hours outside of work reduced the risk by 13 percent. Exercise in excess of 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week reduced the risk by 14 percent. 💙
Number five staying socially connected with friends and family reduced the risk by 18 percent. Number six never smoking was associated with a 20 percent reduced risk of depression. And number seven sleeping for seven to nine hours each night reduced the risk of depression by 22 percent. 💙
What's really interesting though is that people that did five or more of those habits reduced their risk by 57 percent. So that shows how powerful these lifestyle factors are in combination. So if you can work on doing more than one of these lifestyle factor changes. 💙
