Armed Man in a Stolen Vehicle Leads Toledo Police on Chase

Toledo, Ohio — On July 31, 2024, around 5:31 p.m., Toledo Police received a report of a motor vehicle stolen at gunpoint in an aggravated robbery at a convenience store located at the 2000 block of W. Sylvania. According to the Police, the suspect, 23-year-old Michael Kahn, walked up to a 76-year-old man while holding a gun, fired a shot into the air and stole the man’s car. Officers utilizing the Flock Camera System were able to locate the stolen vehicle within minutes of the robbery. As officers observed the vehicle, Kahn fled. Kahn was taken into custody and the firearm used during the robbery was also recovered. According to court records, a Lucas County Grand Jury indicted Kahn on August 8, on charges of Aggravated Robbery, Failure to Comply, Heaving Weapons Under Disability and Improperly Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle. He’s pleaded not guilty to the charges. A judge set his bond at $100,000.
