Red Bull Racing invented the blown diffuser for the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship, using it in their RB6 racing car. Adrian Newey, a highly regarded figure in motorsport, worked on the car, which also featured an interestingly positioned exhaust.

The blown diffuser was eventually banned because it was not viable over a long period of time. This was due to the fact that it increased fuel consumption and affected the engine's lifespan.
