Diary of a Husker was written by David Kolowski, encapsulating his football experience at the University of Nebraska between 1998 and 2002. Initially recruited by Hall of Fame coach Tom Osborne during the historic 1997 season, David joined the Huskers as coach Osborne handed the reigns over to Frank Solich, also a Hall of Fame inductee.

Diary of a Husker captures the raw and real experience of being a football player at one of the most prestigious programs in the country from the perspective of a gritty (and often naïve) young man who is trying to make sense of his place in the world of college football.

After joining a team that had won three out of the last four National Championships (1994, 1995, and 1997), hopes were high that all the pieces were in place for a football dynasty. These hopes were quickly deflated by a harsh reality, experiencing a series of ups and downs. These events led to over twenty years of turmoil, a nearly constant turnover of head coaches, and plenty of heartbroken fans. Were the seeds for this upheaval planted during these transitional years? You be the judge!
