WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Second assassination attempt suspect had at least 100 run-ins with law enforcement. The suspected gunman accused of trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump in Palm County is expected in federal court after he was taken into custody in a neighboring county after he fled.

It's the second assassination attempt made against Trump since he was shot in the ear two months ago in Pennsylvania.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office wrote it has stopped a vehicle on northbound Interstate 95 and taken a suspect into custody who is believed to be connected to the shooting.

The sheriff’s office said it made the stop after authorities in neighboring Palm Beach County put out a “be on the lookout” alert. Photos included in the post showed an SUV stopped behind multiple law enforcement vehicles.
