Did Massive Underdog Edgar Berlanga Stock Go Up After Canelo Loss?

In what many thought would be a one-sided performance by Canelo against Edgar Berlanga. Turned out to be that... a one sided performance. Canelo fans and boxing fans a like picked Berlanga to get stopped.

However, as I said on this podcast last week. Canelo hasn't knocked anybody out in 3 years. His last stoppage was against Caleb Plant back in 2021. Since then, Canelo hasn't looked the same.

But he did enough to get the job done. I'm seeing on X that Berlanga stock went up after the fight with boxing fans and critics alike. Not only did Berlanga not get knocked out... but he showed up to fight.

The fact of the matter is Berlanga exceeded boxing fans expectations vs Canelo. For a prospect like Berlanga to take Canelo the distance in a fight that he was a massive underdog against speaks volumes within itself.

Edgar Berlanga stock has truly went up in this fight... As for Canelo, critics say Canelo has slowed down and has lost a step. At this stage of his career... Canelo needs to stay with his boss Al Haymon, and stay far away from elite competition.

In other news. Danny Garcia got the breaks beat off of him by 41 year old Erislandy Lara. 2 years of inactivity on the PBC island has done wonders for Danny Garcia.

Angel Garcia did right by stopping the fight at the end of the 9th round. Danny looked out of shape, slow, and lethargic. Danny hasn't beaten an elite fighter since Lucas Matthysse back in 2013.

And these are the facts. He's made enough money in the sport, but... it's time for Danny Garcia to retire. Caleb Plant overcame a 4th round knockdown to get the stoppage in the 9th.

Critics say Plant's legs didn't look the same in the bout. Trevor McCumby was a massive underdog in the fight. But Caleb Plant did what everyone knew he was gonna do. And that's get the stoppage.

Stephen Fulton won a split decision victory over Carlos Castro of Mexico. The crazy part about this fight is that Fulton was even on the televised portion of the card.

Fulton fought Carlos Castro on the preliminaries. Just last year Cool Boy Steph was a unified world champion. Fast forward to today, and he's fighting on the preliminaries of a PBC fight card.

Some say Fulton even lost the fight... and that Castro got robbed by the judges. In other news. Crayon eating Rolly Romero won a unanimous decision victory against Manuel Jaimes
