“The Dilemma of Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage” (Matthew 19:1-12) - Sunday, September 15, 2024

Marriage and Divorce was the issue the Pharisees proposed to Jesus in an attempt to discredit Him and divide the populace against Him. The good news is that the Scriptures are not silent on Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage.
Jesus answered the divorce question by quoting the Scriptures as His authority. God “made them male and female.” God designed and defined the sanctity of marriage as “one flesh.” Christ asserted that divorce was never God's plan; however, He affirmed that Moses permitted divorce but that the Law never commended it. Jesus then declared that fornication was the only grounds for divorce.
