No More Tears

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Take your pick. You have only 3 choices
What is hell?
NOWWHERE are there references to a "lake of fire" in the original Greek or Hebrew text.
Here are the real meanings of the three words;

Sheowl; Hebrew # 7585 Shĕ'owl: שְׁאוֹל-The grave, Abode of the dead.
Geenna; Greek # 1067 γέεννα-A garbage pit outside Jerusalem.
Hades; Greek # 86 ᾅδης-Lower parts of the earth or a “negative state of mind” are the 3 meanings of the word "hell”. Sheowl is the Hebrew and Hades and Geenna are Greek.

No mention of a lake or a fire, figuratively or literally
No mention of any location either

So what does the English word hell really mean in the original tongue?
Answer; TORMENT. Regret, Remorse, Failure, Guilt, and being made aware of your sin and failure to accept salvation. You are fully aware of missing the chance at immortality.
Burning with guilt and failure. It has nothing to do with a physical body or fire. The overwhelming guilt causes gnashing of teeth and a feeling of being cast into outer darkness in anticipation of the future GWTJ.
Eternal Torture believers-believe that if you’re not on the list, you'll be swimming in hot molten lava for all of eternity. Your spirit body is not subject to a burning fire. In the spiritual world fire will have no effect.

The garbage pit and the negative state of mind have something in common. They both refer to decay, destruction, torment and failure.
You are either burning with guilt or burning with fire. One before the Millennium and one at the GWTJ after the Millennium.

Below are some verses that confuse people about “hell”

Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

G # 3600 odunaó: to cause or suffer pain Original Word: ὀδυνάω
Part of Speech: Verb Transliteration: odunaó Phonetic Spelling: (od-oo-nah'-o) Definition: to cause or suffer pain Usage: I torment, pain; mid. and pass: I am tormented, pained; I suffer acute pain, physical or mental. sorrow, torment.

Examples
Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Revelation 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. TWO DEATHS
Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; (Died Dead)
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
The rich man has his regrets and is tormented by his failure.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Extreme Regret
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

You could say this is the boundary between Heaven and hell.
The boundary between praise and worship and weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Question; How or why would anyone care if they didn’t find eternal life if there was no hell? How does one explain Lazarus that asked for one drop of water on his tongue after he was gone?
The rich man was tormented by his own failure not from swimming in a lake, He was not buried in dirt either. These are all symbolism and metaphors, The rich man was burning with guilt.
Answer to First question; Love for God should be the motivating factor in a persons decision to follow God. Fear is not love. You ask the question amiss. The real question framed within scripture would be; Does love or fear motivate you to follow God? Does eternal life or eternal death motivate you to follow God?
Question; he takes no pleasure in the wicked perishing?
You see the word “perish”? This is the second death, the soul being destroyed. The destruction of the soul is forever or eternal. The results are permanent not the act itself.
Question; that the smoke of their torment will come before the throne of God forever?
Their torment lasts forever because they are gone forever. The smoke of their torment will be them that are blotted out forever and ever just like smoke when it rises into the air and turns to nothing. Psalms 37 has a hidden acrostic that describes this. Read the entire chapter.
Psalms 37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

We are given one location as to where the dead go in the Bible and Jesus called it Paradise as he hung on the Cross with the thief. Regardless of what you may have been taught, the word hell is not a location, but it is what is suffered by unbelievers who find themselves on the left side of Great Gulf in Paradise.
I believe Paradise has many mansions so to speak, it is heaven. Also, in Luke 16 we are told there is a great gulf that separates Paradise. The thief on the cross went to Paradise and he made it to the same side as Lazarus did. Both in the Bosom of Abraham singing praises to our God.

On the other hand you have the rich man who chose the riches of this current world over his eternal salvation. After he died he woke up in torment realizing what he had done. He was on the opposite side of the Great Gulf where there was weeping and gnashing of teeth. Goats on the left side and sheep on the right side as explained by Jesus.

This is your description of heaven and hell above

Where people go wrong is their understanding of timing and dispensations when it comes to judgment. The final judgment is called the GWTJ and it doesn’t happen until the end of the Millennium. However, when people die they are given immediate judgment at the JSOC. This only determines where the unbelievers like the rich man will be held, until the GWTJ occurs. Not one person has been sentenced to perish yet. You might say it’s a preliminary trial.
At the end of the Millennium and Judgment, YHVH will consume death hell and the grave with His own Consuming Fire. All will be a thing of the past because everybody at that time will be immortal.

If you had to describe the best bible description of the word hell I think it would be; A thousand years of anticipation until the GWTJ. Like reliving your destruction a thousand times. Extreme Regret

Hell is the condition or description of the unbeliever up until the final GWTJ occurs. It’s not a lake of fire with people in it.
The JSOC is in effect until the end of the age. Do not confuse it with the GWTJ. No final judgment has taken place and not one person has been sentenced yet.

Hell as it is taught is not a final judgment but a preliminary judgment and the resulting anguish of anticipating punishment. Hell to pay for a thousand years.

Paradise G # 3857 paradeisos: a park, a garden, a paradise
Original Word: παράδεισος, ου, ὁ Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine Transliteration: paradeisos Phonetic Spelling: (par-ad'-i-sos) Definition: a park, a garden, a paradise Usage: Paradise. paradise. Of Oriental origin (compare pardec); a park, i.e. (specially), an Eden (place of future happiness, "paradise") -- paradise. see HEBREW pardec
Pardec H # 6508 Garden or Orchard
Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
2 Corinthians 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Yes, Paradise is referred to as a garden but in Revelation it is a description of Heaven no matter which way you look at it.

Matthew 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. (In Paradise)
Matthew 27:38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
(On Earth)--- One went to Paradise and the other went to Hades Gehenna Sheol
Further proof of this fact is the Thief that said to Jesus “remember me” was on the “right side” of Jesus as He hung there on the Cross. The thief hung on the right side of Jesus on earth and when he got to Paradise he was on the right side of the gulf in Paradise…Amazing.

2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; (the moment you die) JSOC
Luke 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. (Paradise on one side and Sheowl, Hades and Gehenna on the other)

These verses explain clearly where the quick and the dead go. Unbelievers go to sheowl, but believers go straight into the “Bosom of Abraham”
YHVH does not Torture his children
Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
