The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953)

Directed by Eugène Lourié. It’s one of the earliest atomic-age monster movies and is widely credited with influencing later creature features, including Godzilla (1954).
The plot centers on a prehistoric sea monster, awakened by an Arctic nuclear test, which begins a destructive rampage toward New York City. The film is based on a short story by Ray Bradbury titled "The Fog Horn," and features groundbreaking special effects by stop-motion pioneer Ray Harryhausen.
