11.09.24 - A naval search and strike force of the Northern Fleet repelled an air attack of the mock enemy in the Barents Sea waters during the Ocean 2024 strategic command post exercise. The missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov and frigate Admiral Golovko operated as elements of a surface action group.
-
Su-33 and MiG-29K shipborne fighter jets were involved as a mock enemy fighting against the ships. They imitated an attack on the ships from different heights and directions.
-
In the course of air defence tasks, on-board radio-technical and missile-artillery combat units practised cooperation in detecting, identifying targets, tracking them with radio-technical means, and destroying them.
-
The missile cruiser employed a Fort sea-launched surface-to-air missile with electronic launches at aircraft simulating an air attack. Russian batteries of multi-calibre AK-130 naval guns and a AK-630 close-in weapon system engaged mock air threats.

The frigate fired the A-192M artillery system, Palash close-in weapon system, and Poliment-Redut air defence missile system at the simulated aerial target.
