"I want to find my sister... not rid the world of evil." 4Digital Media has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror thriller film titled Winter Island, the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Tony Doupé. This premiered at a few horror festivals already earlier this year, and it'll be out to watch on VOD in the US in Spetember just before October's horror season. When a young girl is found dead on a small, wooded island, her teenage brother's postmortem visions point to an evil presence within their own family. He soon comes across eerie, potentially supernatural phenomena and begins to suspect the worst. The horror stars Elijah Carnazzo as Galen, Jason Adkins, Ashlyn Harlos, Katie Prentiss. Early reviews describe the film as "a classic ghost story in the tradition of some of the best titles the subgenre has to offer." The trailer pretty clearly hints at the religious undertones within this story, which are no doubt connected to the girl's death.

Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Tony Doupé's horror film Winter Island, direct from YouTube:

When young Abby (Ashlyn Harlos) goes missing, her once cohesive family begins to diverge. Her brother Galen (Elijah Carnazzo) already sees the bleak writing on the wall. It's only a matter of days before the gruesome discovery – her shallow grave on a small island a mile from their lake-front property. Galen, desperate for answers while coming to terms with the trauma, experiences visions of Abby. Against his devout father's wishes, Galen searches for answers that point right back to the location of her grim death. Faced with an evil presence within his own family tree, Galen must decide whether to emotionally depart from his tragic circumstances, or endure even more suffering in his painful search for the truth held by the mystical island. Winter Island is directed by genre actor / writer / filmmaker Tony Doupé, making his feature directorial debut after a few short films and TV projects previously. The screenplay is written by Chris Taylor & Clark Coffey. Produced by Clark Coffey Arthur Rains-McNally, James Dailey, David Harlos, Chris Taylor. This initially premiered at the 2024 Chicago Horror Film Festival. 4Digital Media will debut Doupe's Winter Island direct-to-VOD in the US starting on September 24th, 2024. Is anyone intrigued?
