Control arms are wear items thanks to their bushings. They'll last a good while, but eventually, the constant stresses of ensuring the rear wheels stay in place through the corners and over bumps will wear out the rubber bushes designed to absorb some harshness but provide precision suspension control. Replacing your F82 M4 control arms with OE parts is a great way to restore the factory ride, but it also allows you to upgrade to something better suited to the performance the F8X chassis is capable of.

Each side of the M4's rear suspension uses five control arms. Upgrading all of them to aftermarket adjustable units on a street car isn't the best idea, as they typically use compliance-free bearings instead of bushings. However, a set of adjustable toe arms is a great place to start, as it gives you the alignment adjustment needed to ensure the wheels are at their best alignment when the car sits lower than stock. We've chosen the quality aftermarket parts from SPL for our M4 CSi build.
