How to P.R.A.Y.

Prayer is powerful… but can be hard to start if you’ve never done it before.

Here’s how I do it…

(P) Prime the Posture

(R) Respect the Relationship

(A) Ask for insight

(Y) Yes!

👇I’ll break it down for you below.

When I was first building my faith my gateway to prayer was mediation.

But, I had an incredibly hard time calming my mind.

I couldn’t calm my mind because I couldn’t relax my body.

I had to take a different approach…

I got introduced to Breath-work a number of years ago and became fascinated with our own ability to modulate our mood, chemistry and energy simply by how we breathed.

I learned about the role of the nervous system (Fight, Flight or Freeze response) and how it ultimately affects our relationships, with self and others, pretty critical information if you want to have healthy relationships in life.

When we first started The Project I got a download that GOD is breath — there is a deeper teaching I’ll share at another time but simply put…

God, has a sense of humor, he made us completely dependent on this invisible essence that we cannot touch or see… breath.

Hold your breath.

Now, go long enough and you will feel starved for it.

Kind, of like the relationship with God?

Anyway, GOD is breath but it’s also a way to PRIME the body.

(G)— GO breath is fast and rapid breathing pattern that activates a sympathetic response.

👉 Breathe quickly 1x1 for 1 min. 🌬️

(O)— ORDER is a slow measured breath that balances and evenly moves the increased Co2 and O2 throughout the body.

👉 Box Breath, 4x4x4x4. Inhale, hold, exhale, hold for 2 min. 🌬️

(D) — DOWN Regulate activates the parasympathetic response, our rest and relax.

👉 Inhale for 2 seconds then exhale and hold as long as you can. 🌬️

Cycle through a few times then on your own play with edges of your breath.

This will PRIME the body and relax the mind.
