Introducing the PlayStation 5 Pro: the most visually stunning way to experience gaming on PlayStation.

With features like an upgraded GPU, advanced ray tracing, and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, PS5 Pro takes your gaming to the next level. Over the past four years since the launch of the PS5, we’ve continuously improved the console experience, delivering the top-tier games our players expect. Now, I’m thrilled to introduce the latest evolution of PlayStation: the PS5 Pro, our most powerful and innovative console yet.

The PS5 Pro was developed with dedicated gamers and game developers in mind, many of whom asked for higher fidelity graphics and smoother 60FPS gameplay. We delivered that with several key upgrades:

Upgraded GPU: The PS5 Pro’s GPU features 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory, enabling up to 45% faster rendering for a smoother gameplay experience.

Advanced Ray Tracing: The PS5 Pro offers enhanced ray tracing capabilities, doubling or even tripling the speed of light reflection and refraction compared to the standard PS5.

AI-Driven Upscaling: PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, a machine learning-based technology, delivers sharper image quality by adding incredible detail.

Players can enjoy stunning visuals and high frame rates, while PS5 Pro Game Boost improves the performance of over 8,500 backward-compatible PS4 games, stabilizing or enhancing both PS4 and PS5 titles. Select PS4 games will also feature enhanced resolution. The PS5 Pro is equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology in regions where it’s supported, along with support for VRR and 8K gaming.

Game developers have eagerly embraced PS5 Pro’s cutting-edge technology, and many games will receive free updates to take advantage of these new features. These titles will display the PS5 Pro Enhanced label. Expect upgrades for blockbuster games like Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Demon’s Souls, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and more.

In terms of design, the PS5 Pro retains the familiar look of the PS5 family. It has the same height as the original PS5 and the width of the current model to accommodate its powerful specs. Players can customize the system with Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drives and interchangeable console covers. It’s also fully compatible with current PS5 accessories like PlayStation VR2, DualSense Edge, Pulse Elite, and others.

The PS5 Pro will be available this holiday season, priced at $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY (tax included). Each console includes a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller, and Astro’s Playroom pre-installed. A disc-less version will be available, with the option to add a Disc Drive separately.

Launching on November 7, 2024, PS5 Pro will be sold at participating retailers and directly from PlayStation at direct.playstation.com. Preorders start on September 26, 2024.
