Carrying billionaire entrepreneur and mission commander Jared Isaacman, SpaceX mission specialists Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon, and mission pilot retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Scott "Kidd" Poteet, a SpaceX Crew Dragon lifted off atop a Falcon 9 rocket today(Sept. 10) at 0923 UTC, from historic Launch Complex-39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The Polaris Dawn mission aims to conduct the first-ever private spacewalk, and a wide range of technical and scientific tests and experiment, at an orbit 1,400 km from the earth -- higher than any human has flown since the final Apollo mission in 1972.
