NASA is exploring the possibility of using commercial services for Mars exploration due to the high costs and challenges of sending missions to the Red Planet.

The agency is considering buying services like imagery, transportation, and communications from private companies to reduce costs and enhance scientific research.

NASA’s Mars Exploration Program is currently conducting feasibility studies with companies to assess the potential for commercial support, particularly for Mars orbit missions.

Results from these studies, which will be shared this fall, aim to improve infrastructure and technology for future missions, Space News has reported.
