Lifting Holy Hands

Life Song Church means; “Living psalmist shouting praises to God.” We are spiritually the Tribe of Judah which means “Praise.” Everything we do has meaning and a purpose. On Thanksgiving morning, 2007, God gave us a mandate; “Ignite the Thumb with Praise and Worship.” Our first Not Ashamed Praise Rally was on 2-22-2020.

When God formed the nation of Israel, He chose a young shepherd boy to be the king. This young shepherd had a “heart after God.” His name was David. He was created to be the lead worshipper of Israel. King David wrote much of the Book of Psalms. David built a tabernacle for the Ark of the Lord aka Ark of the Covenant. We were all created to worship our King Jesus, and our Father God through the Holy Spirit.

2 Sam 6:14-15 Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

Michal, Saul’s daughter (and David’s wife) came out to David and scolded him for dancing because she was embarrassed. David replied; “It was before the Lord who chose me instead of your father…and I will be even more undignified than this, and humble in my own sight.”

1 Chron 16:1-2 So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.

1 Chron 16:7 On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord:

Three key words to the restoration of the Tabernacle of David: thanks(giving), praise and hand.

Thank: Strong’s #3034, Hebrew, yadah, (yah-dah); to revere or worship with extended hands; to praise, give thanks, acknowledge, declare the merits of someone. Yadah is an important word for “praise” or “thanks” and occurs over 100 times in the OT, with over half being in the Book of Psalms. Word Wealth, The Spirit Filled Life Bible

Praise: Strong’s #1984 halal (hah-lahl); to praise, thank, rejoice, boast about someone. Halal is the root from which “hallelujah” is formed. Also derived from halal is tehillah meaning a praise, psalm or a song. The Book of Psalms literally means “Praises.” W/W SFLB

Hand: Strong’s #3027, Hebrew, yad (yahd), Means by which a work is accomplished; strength, power. One interesting derivative of yad is the verb yada which is generally translated “thank” or “praise”; its original meaning was probably “to praise by lifting up the hand.” Word Wealth, The Spirit Filled Life Bible

The original tabernacle of David was replaced with the temple of Solomon, which was destroyed when Israel was disobedient to God and taken captive by the Babylonians. The temple was rebuilt in 515 BC after Israel was released from Babylon. The second temple was destroyed in 70 AD. Many believe before the third temple is built, the Tabernacle of David will be restored which is true worship of God in spirit and in truth on a grand scale. King David demonstrated true worship: dance with all of your might, sing, shout, clap, lift holy hands being not ashamed! The government of Jesus Christ will be established upon the throne of David and over his kingdom (Isa 9:6,7).

Amos 9:11-14 "On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old; 12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name," Says the Lord who does this thing. 13 "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord, "When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, And the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, And all the hills shall flow with it. 14 I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them;
Acts 15:15-17 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written: 16 'After! this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up; 17 So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the Lord who does all these things.'

Ps 100:4-5 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

Lifting Holy Hands: Worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth. We connect with God’s heavenly hosts in His tabernacle, opening a gateway from earth (1st heaven) to God’s tabernacle (3rd heaven).

1. Our surrender to Him as Lord; I give up doing it my way…I surrender!
2. Putting ourselves in submission and humility.
3. Becoming a willing vessel in obedience to His Word; my hands are here for You Lord.
4. An attitude of gratitude; thank You Lord, I owe everything to You!
5. Coming to God our Father with child-like innocence and faith.
6. We bless the Lord and He blesses us back.
7. For the sake and wellbeing of our children.
8. For repentance and turning back to God.
9. For empowering our prayers.
10. It is a sacrifice to our Lord.

Ps 28:1-2 To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. 2 Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.

Ps 63:2-5 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. 3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. 4 Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.

Ps 119:45-48 And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts. 46 I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, And will not be ashamed. 47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments, Which I love. 48 My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments, Which I love, And I will meditate on Your statutes. *obedience is better than sacrifice!

Ps 134 Behold, bless the LORD, All you servants of the LORD, Who by night stand in the house of the LORD! 2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD. 3 The LORD who made heaven and earth Bless you from Zion!

Lam 2:19 "Arise, cry out in the night, At the beginning of the watches; Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him For the life of your young children, Who faint from hunger at the head of every street."
Lam 3:40-42 Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the LORD; 41 Let us lift our hearts and hands To God in heaven. 42 We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned. *Despite the warning from Jeremiah, the people continued to sin which brought God’s discipline on His children. This happened through Babylonian captivity.

The prophet Ezra read from the Book of the Law of Moses. Neh 8:6 Then all the people answered, "Amen, Amen!" while lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground. Obedience brings authority, protection and blessings into our lives.

Ps 141:1-2 LORD, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You. 2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

1 Tim 2:8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

Are you worshipping our Lord Yeshua Hamashiach, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS in spirit and in truth?
