This film centres the idea of happiness in our daily life. Set in rural Bengal, the characters come from the lowest earning Strata of the society. They live by meager means and barely earn their handful of rice. Entangled by sheer poverty and neglect from the authorities, they strive to stay happy.
From their perspective, happiness is primarily governed by economic upliftment. But the same crisis revolves around the metro Folks. As we dive further into the film, we see, people coming up with various other issues which deprive them from staying happy.
Family, relationship, companionship and mutual support are basic essentials for any society. Lack of these values, crumbles every bond and makes people lonely.
Don't we find them everywhere around us? considering these facets, the sense of being happy remains same among everyone in every corner of the world.
The film attempts to draw attention towards the basic realm of life. Money or any commodity, though quite essential, is not the judgemental factor of life. Deep within the root of civilization, lies the secret of good living. And we must be aware of that.
The film curates emotions and dialogues of people who have come at the edge of their life's journey, but are still in the pursuit of happiness.
Question arises, is happiness only a fantasy? Or can we really get a touch of it? Where to search? How to identify? Questions and confusions cloud over the screen.
