Phantom Of The Rue Morgue (1954)

Directed by Roy Del Ruth. Set in 19th-century Paris, the film follows a series of brutal murders, where the victims are found in their homes under mysterious circumstances. The police are baffled as there seems to be no clear human perpetrator. Dr. Marais, a scientist who runs an animal research facility, is soon suspected to be involved in the crimes, but the truth turns out to be far stranger.
