Where the Sidewalk Ends (1950)

Directed by Otto Preminger and starring Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney. The story follows a tough, cynical police detective named Mark Dixon (played by Andrews) who has a history of using excessive force. When he accidentally kills a suspect during an interrogation, Dixon tries to cover up his crime, leading to a web of lies and deeper complications, especially when an innocent man is blamed for the murder.
