Contrary to what most were taught to believe, the British Mandate of Palestine was "very pro-Arab" and British soldiers viewed many of the Jews as terrorists agaisnt their colonial reign. What's interesting is that to Palestinians, the British were understood to be favoring of the Israelis, while to Israelis, the British were perceived to be solely pro-Palestinian. In reality, the British were pro maintaining and imposing their dominance over the region and turning the local populations (Israelis & Palestinians) against each other.

Todays conflict is reminiscent of the psychological warfare the British left on both populations, which still has Israelis and Palestinians believing a zero sum game approach may work.

There is no future where Israelis or Palestinians will disappear or that their connection to the Land will lessen. The question is not if, but when will the two populations wake up and start the journey of creating a mutual reality on this Land. This has yet to even be attempted.
