Ep. 222 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024 A.D.) A BLOATED, yet “Okay?!” film. That’s utterly POINTLESS!

Well, it only took 30 years to get a sequel! Something that will forever boggle my mind in regards to why Hollywood continues to churn out non-original content… But, such is life apparently in the entertainment industry…

So, #beetlejuicebeetlejuice… Or basically Beetlejuice 2. What’s it like? Whelp, it’s okay. Nothing more… And though I’m not exactly surprised, it’s most definitely better than most of the garbage we’ve been seeing this past 2024 year.

Its downfall is ultimately its story. It’s more bloated than opening a new Android device and loading the latest operating system… So many details, so many characters, you’ll ask yourself, does anyone have a Venn diagram I could use to try and piece together what it is I’m trying to see here?

Story arcs where characters you’ve seen in the trailer have about as much screen time as I do in a major motion picture: AKA none. And on top of that, trying to add so many more details… Like a background story into #beetlejuice himself, again, you’ll continue to ask, why?

The first Beetlejuice movie gave us a story about 2 dead folks learning to adapt to being dead. So they hire a dead a$$hole to try and help. That’s it. In this new, sequel film, they try and figure out a way to get to Mars… NASA help!?

Its saving grace truly is the one and only #michaelkeaton! He nails the Beetljuice character, even after 30 plus years! And you can never go wrong with #timburton and his practical effects… The love of my life #jennaortega seems to have her talents wasted here, but it’s never a bad thing to see her on the big screen!

Whatever you do, just don’t spend too much money on this… I recommend the matinee!
