Downtown Overland Park Car Meet - September 7th, 2024

I was busy earlier in the day getting my 1995 Miata ready to show to someone that ended up buying it. I was so relieved by exhausted by the time they drove off with it, all the way back to Arkansas. Anyways, this prevented me from going to a few car shows during the day, so I was excited about taking my newer 2011 Miata to its first car meet.

They hold these car meet events on the first Saturday of every month, year round, unless bad weather, of course. This Saturday evening, it was very mild out, in the lower 70's, so the event had a great turnout.

One guy showed up with a very nice Shelby GT 500, a few others with their Camaros, Corvettes and Chevelles. At about 7:15, some of us joined in on a group ride down Metcalf to Chuck E Cheese, then with a return drive back. A few got into a few friendly drags here n there along the way.

Overall it was a fun car meet. Once it got a lil dark, I decided to pack it in, and journey back home in the Miata. Next meet will be Saturday, October 5th.
