The Richland Shale Brick Company began 1880s, when a Shale Deposit was located North of Mansfield, OH. John A Conard bought the Plant in 1920; and his son, John B took over Management in 1926. Richland Shale produced over 60M Bricks per year, at its peak. John sold the Business around 1979 and died in 1982; and the Brick Plant closed in the 2008 Housing Crash...
