The horrifying sounds and visuals of the surprise and audacious attack on Israel by Hamas in the early hours of October 7th, 2023, are still echoing as Israeli forces take back control of the situation across the Gaza Strip. The attack by Hamas launched across land, air, and sea, was planned and executed with precision and timed for the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. As of this time, well over a thousand Israelis have been killed, including infants, women, and the elderly. Israeli forces have launched a ferocious air and artillery assault on Gaza, targeting key military and command positions of Hamas. The ground troops regained control over the breached crossings and were able to neutralize most of the Hamas infiltrators.With Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant vowing mighty revenge, Israel has mobilized nearly 400000 of its reserves. Also, it's moving tanks, artillery, and troops to the border with Gaza in preparation for a ground offensive. A broad comparison between the military might of Israel and Hamas quickly reveals that it's a war of two unequal forces. Israel has a well-organized, structured, and equipped modern military, while Hamas has fighters who have been mustered, indoctrinated, equipped, and trained as any other terrorist organization in basic combat, guerilla warfare, suicide attacks, etc.
