Time to plan your trip to Kenya in 2024! 🇰🇪🐘

Kenya just announced it’s going visa free starting 2024. They’re introducing a digital platform for electronic travel authorisation, so you don’t need to apply for a visa anymore.

Some things to keep in mind if you’re travelling to Kenya:

🦁 You need a yellow fever vaccination and a polio booster to be able to visit Kenya (and at least 14 days before your trip). Book your appointment well in advance because there are limited slots.

🦁 There are direct flights from Mumbai to Nairobi. I flew Kenya Airways but a week after I visited, Indigo also started flights to Kenya so you’ve got options.

🦁 I visited in August and July-August are the best months to visit if you want to see the Great Migration, however, it’s also the most expensive time to visit Kenya (expect to pay 3k+ USD for a one week trip if you want to do private safaris). However, you can spot animals all year long and February and November are a great time to visit on a budget. You can also choose to stay in camps outside the national parks and explore Kenya on a budget (1200-1500 USD).

🦁 Places I visited - Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Naivasha, Nairobi

🦁 Kenya is best experienced on a private safari and staying inside national parks (the hotels inside the parks aren’t fenced and you see animals right outside your room and it’s a beautiful experience). However, it can be expensive (like I said, you can stay in camps outside the parks if you’re on a budget); be sure to carry some USDs and as much as possible, pay everything in advance so you can avoid carrying cash.

🦁 I booked my trip through @james_munyiri_safari and can’t recommend him enough (feel free to reach out to him if you want to plan a trip)!

Comment and let me know if you want me to share my full Kenya itinerary! 🇰🇪
