Colin Gray was visibly emotional, rocking back and forth in his chair, as he appeared in court for his initial appearance on Friday morning following the arraignment of his 14-year-old Colt Gray.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Colin Gray, one day after investigators said his son opened fire at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, killing two classmates and two teachers.

The judge read Colin Gray his charges, which included two counts of second-degree murder, four counts of second-degree involuntary manslaughter and eight counts of second-degree cruelty to children. He explained the charges combined are punishable by a maximum penalty of 180 years in prison.

Colin Gray’s lawyer did not request bond, but said he would have new counsel beginning later in the day.
