Barely released, it is already making a lot of noise: the video for Pourvu qu'elles sont douces, Mylène Farmer's hit covered by Julien Doré, has succeeded in putting it into orbit. Unveiled on Thursday, August 29 by the 42-year-old singer on his social networks, it features him in a desert setting, alone, with his piano... and a cat. It is with his deep voice and his in-depth interpretation that he covers the song by multiplying the nods to his appearance on the show Nouvelle Star, on M6, in 2007.
Humorous references to "Nouvelle Star"
With this interpretation, which obviously evokes his cover of Moi, Lolita 16 years ago in the M6 show, Julien Doré makes a first reference to the talent show that he won brilliantly. But that's not all: after a few seconds, as the song intensifies, we see him appear, between two images, with short hair, plastered by a barrette, the cut he wore in 2007. Another wink: the clip ends with Julien catapulted into 2007, on a TV set reminiscent of the Nouvelle Star, before he is stretched out at full length... as he did when he performed the song of Dalida Mourir sur scène opposite Marianne James, Dove Attia, André Manoukian and Manu Katché.
A surprise hidden at the heart of the video
Another mischievousness: in the second part of the clip, we see a banner: "Support Julien by SMS: Send 'Imposter' to 92300 (1 euro + price of the SMS)". Impostor is the title of the artist's album that will be released on November 8 and the banner, another nod to the Nouvelle Star and its calls for votes. But the cleverest thing is that the famous phone number works and that by sending the requested text message, some Internet users found that they actually had the possibility of making a donation of one euro... to the Society for the Protection of Animals. "Thank you for your vote! (free SMS). Send CHAT if you want to confirm your donation of 1 euro to the SPA. Kisses my kitten. Julien", were indeed able to receive the curious who had responded to the banner of the clip. The artist is, as we know, very committed to animal protection for several years now.
