CLASS #429: On Property (James Madison) and The Law (Frederic Bastiat)

Streamed on:

Last week, we read how Progressive, Charles Beard, claimed that Europeans realized that rights come from the law, not God. We also read how he invoked the words of James Madison to suggest that our Founding Fathers concurred with their European counterparts. Today, we will look at a French economist who refutes the claim about European beliefs, and Madison's essay, "On Property," to refute Beard's use of Madison. In the process, we will demonstrate why Progressives (as with all statists) must always be 'fact checked,' as they tend to tell falsehoods to advance their ideas. We hope you'll join us as we believe this will be an enlightening class for many of you out there.
