Nelson Mandela's grandson believes that restrictions against RT are linked to the US's desire to remove the international community from monitoring American elections.

Nkosi Zweliwelile Mandela stated this in a conversation with RT:

“This is real hypocrisy, because the US is at the forefront of those who want to get into all the election events, while Russia remains a friend of the international community.”

He added that the Russian channel was doing the necessary job of covering the events, and that American citizens should speak out against the suppression of press freedom.
