Open Your Eye Ep126 with the late Thomas Hartle -RIP

Join us for a replay of our 100th episode & final show of the year back in 2023 with a very special guest. Tarra Simpson & Kim Cooper catch up with our favorite patient advocate, Thomas Hartle

Thomas lost his battle with cancer just 2 weeks ago. He was a fan of this podcast and an amazing friend. He will be greatly missed, and never forgotten.

Thomas Hartle is Canada's first Section 56 patient granted access to psilocybin for medical purposes, for end of life care. Thomas was also granted access under Canada's SAP- Special Access Program for his renewal the following year.
Thomas Hartle is a 54-year-old husband, father, and IT professional who has been dealing with stage 4 colon cancer since 2016. He was the first Canadian to receive a Section 56 exemption to receive psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy which helped him cope with debilitating anxiety about his future and that of his family. He also applied for and was granted access under Canada's recently added SAP or Special Access Program for psychedelic therapy after his section 56 expired 1 year later. Thomas has received substantial improvement in his wellbeing and is now an advocate for accessibility of this treatment for others. To attempt to accomplish change on a federal level, Thomas has retained Jack Lloyd from Cannabis & Psychedelic Law Group based in Toronto Ontario
